附:Professor Barbara Fennell
Current Research
Professor Barbara Fennell wrote her doctorate on comparative Germanic syntax. She has worked on second language acquisition, non-standard language varieties and language history.  Her current research focus is primarily on socio-historical linguistics and discourse analysis.  She was the Principal Investigator in a 2010 AHRC-funded interdisciplinary project entitled Language and Linguistic Evidence in the 1641 Depositions.  She has written numerous papers across these research areas and has authored two books: A History of English: A Sociolinguistic Approach (2001); and Language, Literature and the Negotiation of Identity: Foreign Worker German in the Federal Republic of Germany (1997).  She is presently completing a book for CUP with Mark Garner, entitled Language in Context.
