讲座一：绘画的语言
本讲座从多个视角考察绘画如何构建出一种语言：以文艺复兴时期的绘画为例考察其空间性，以库尔贝的现实主义绘画为例呈现其物质性，以莫奈和莫里索的印象主义绘画为例阐明其光亮，以毕加索的立体主义绘画为例论述其格调，以罗塞蒂的绘画为例论述其象征性。

讲座二：The Speech of Music
We shall first look at ways in which music is like spoken language: on the level of syntax, the level of rhetoric, and the level of inflection (with examples by Schütz, Britten, Richard Strauss, and others). Then we shall look at ways in which music is nothing like speech.

Daniel Albright，哈佛大学资深教授。1970年获美国耶鲁大学博士学位，2003至今任美国哈佛大学英美语言文学系 Ernest Bernbaum 文学教授，兼任哈佛大学音乐系教授。曾任哈佛大学英语系主任。迄今已出版13部专著，主编9部著作，发表40余篇重要学术期刊文章, 在英美大学作80余场讲座。主要学术著作包括:
