Existence forms of life in To the Lighthouse

Abstract:To the Lighthouse is published in 1927, as a landmark of modern novels and a masterpiece of the stream of consciousness. As one of the most famous work of Virginia Woolf, the novel, rather than a retrospective and biographical novel of her own life, is a book about the life human beings. People’s different stages of living, their features in that existence form, their shifting after the Great War. According to Søren Aabye Kierkegaard’s theory about the stages of life existence, people stay in three stages of existence: aesthetical stage, ethical stage and religious stage. In To the Lighthouse, we see people in these three stages of existence, their reconstruction of the faith in life and their looking for the existence after the Great War. The novel is so symbolic that the meaning of the Lighthouse is always in dispute. And through existentialism, the Lighthouse reflects a new meaning in people’s living.

中国英语学习者对比联加状语使用情况的语料库研究

摘要：本文利用中国学生英语笔语语料库（WECCL2.0）和鲁汶英语本族语作文语料库（LOCNESS），对比研究了中国英语学习者和英语母语者使用对比联加状语时在频数和位置上的异同。研究结果表明：“中国英语学习者过度使用连接词”和“连接词一般出现在句首”这两个假设并不适用于对比联加状语。就对比联加状语而言，使用不足和使用过度这两个问题同等重要。对比联加状语不都倾向于出现在句首。中国英语学习者对比联加状语的位置分布总体和英语母语者保持一致，但仍受母语迁移影响。本研究对英语写作、词汇教学具有一定的启示意义。
