题目：Language Perceptions in China: Attitudes of native Chinese speakers towards native and non-native accents of Standard Chinese（基于Liqin Xiong的研究）

摘要：In this talk we expose the experimental design and the results of the first large-scale of language perceptions on Mainland China. In the study a total of 1000 students, distributed over five difference regions and across five native dialect areas first evaluated a total of ten different native speakers of Standard Chinese and four non-native speakers, upon which they proceeded to geographical identification of the accents in question.
The results convey the students´ ability of correct identification at levels above chance. At the same time asymmetries show up across the different groups of identifiers/evaluators. In the talk we discuss the possible reasons for these asymmetries and address the type of attitudes held by the five panels of listener.

题目：When do Spanish children learn how to distinguish Spanish accents? And how do they learn? An experimental study on lectal acquisition in Madrid

摘要：In this talk I describe an experimental study designed to investigate the critical periods when young Spanish children begin to discriminate between regional accents of peninsular Spanish. We assume that the knowledge which is necessary to categorize a stretch of speech as a token of a given accent type is acquired through familiarity and experience with naturally occurring speech varieties.
In order to try to comprehend the processes and the stages that are at work in this type of language acquisition, we processed the information provided by the children in a personal questionnaire and subjected the data to a multivariate analysis. The talk, which will be conducted in both Spanish and English for easy comprehension, also discusses the results of this analysis and the cultural factors in Spanish society that had an influence on the results.
