    庚子之春，新冠肺炎疫情暴发，一场没有硝烟的战“疫”在世界范围内打响。广大海外师生与校友心系祖国、感念母校，多方驰援，心手相连，为国家和母校防疫做出了重要贡献。

The outbreak of COVID-19 in the spring of 2020 has caused tremendous disturbance and panic to our world. We really appreciate your efforts and timely help in the battle against the epidemic as we believe China and Zhejiang University have always been so close to your heart.

    当前，国内的疫情防控形势已呈现持续向好、生产生活秩序加快恢复的态势，而疫情在全球蔓延的趋势有所加剧。远在异国他乡的你们，一直是我们心中的牵挂。在此，我们有一些建议想与大家分享：

We are happy to see the firm and effective control measures taken in China have yielded positive results. However, the epidemic is getting worse abroad. At this critical moment, we are, as always, concerned about our students and teachers studying or working overseas. We would like to share the following suggestions for your safety.

    关注信息，科学防疫。请大家备好防疫物资，加强自身防护，注意均衡饮食，适当运动，保证充足的睡眠，减轻压力。避免前往人口密集的公共场所，避免与发热、咳嗽、咽痛等症状的人群接触，一旦出现疑似症状，要及时就医，以免耽误病情。请大家务必关注所在国疫情信息，遵守所在国政府、公共卫生管理机构、所在单位关于疫情防控的规定与要求，密切关注所在国政府与中国驻外使领馆发布的权威信息，做到不造谣、不信谣、不传谣。

Keep track of official updates and adopt a scientific way towards epidemic prevention. Prepare enough supplies for epidemic prevention, pay attention to hygiene, keep a balanced diet, moderate exercises, adequate sleep and a good state of mind. Avoid visiting densely populated public places, or contacting those with fever, cough, sore throat and other symptoms. Seek medical treatment in case of suspected symptoms. Abide by the regulations of local governments, public health authorities and workplaces on epidemic prevention and control. Keep a discerning eye on facts and rumors.

    坚定信心，坚持学习。新冠病毒虽然未知，但只要各国给予足够重视，减少聚集性活动，打破病毒传播链，摈弃侥幸心理，疫情完全可控。大家要保持良好的心态，坚定战胜疫情的信心。在科学防疫，健康生活的同时，海外的莘莘学子们更要响应“求是创新”的校训，充分利用国际优质教育资源和线上教学资源自主学习。

Be confident and study hard. The epidemic will be contained as long as all the countries make concerted efforts, shut down public gatherings and break the transmission chain of the virus. Keep firm confidence in combating the epidemic. Go on with autonomous learning by taking advantage of quality global education resources and online teaching resources based on the philosophy of “Seeking Truth and Pursuing Innovation”.

    保持沟通，遵守规范。请大家保持与家人和学校的沟通畅达，坚持每日线上健康打卡，随时关注学校发送的动态信息，及时分享健康状况和出行动态。如遇问题，第一时间向所在院校、所在国使领馆寻求帮助，并及时与国内所属单位沟通联系。

Maintain good communication and obey rules. Follow the prevention and control requirements stipulated by the school, local government and Chinese embassies and consulates abroad. Make sure you can be reached by your teachers, co-workers and family for any emergency. Contact the Chinese embassies for help if you are in emergency.

    出入安全，共筑防线。疫情期间，尽量避免出行。境外师生如因特殊原因确需出入境，请提前向所在学院报备，并同时告知属地镇（街道）、村（社区），在入境时如实报告个人信息，入境后自觉配合属地疫情防控要求，接受有关隔离措施。

Build up a defense of safety and security. Stay at home as much as possible during the epidemic outbreak. Report to the hosting college in advance and notify the local town (street) and village (community) in time if any student or teacher abroad would like to return due to the expiration of the visiting period. Report truthful personal information upon entering China and abide by the local prevention and control requirements and relevant quarantine measures after.

    莫道浮云终蔽日，严冬过尽绽春蕾。亲爱的海外师生与校友们，祖国永远是你们最强大的靠山，母校永远是你们最坚强的后盾。让我们守望相助，共抗疫情，待到惠风和畅时，共同相聚求是园。

If winter comes, can spring be far behind? Remember China and Zhejiang University will always be at your side. Let’s work together and look forward to our sweet reunion on the campus.
