讲座题目
Some Aspects Of Shakespeare’s Hamlet
讲座摘要
The purpose of the lecture is to demonstrate the work’s considerable relevance to your own life and activities. The lecture will introduce the concept of “Shakespearean tragedy” and argue that both Shakespeare and Hamlet are well worth your further study. This lecture will explore seven key aspects of Hamlet, beginning by framing it as the quintessential Shakespearean tragedy and examining what that term truly means. We will then delve into the play’s intense portrayal of parental conflict with a father, mother, and uncle, as well as its nuanced exploration of friendship and trust through Hamlet’s relationships with Horatio and Ophelia. The discussion will also uncover the atmosphere of fear, built from both external and internal threats, and recast the play as a compelling detective story with Hamlet as the investigator of his father’s murder. Finally, we will consider the themes of play-acting and disguise as strategies for dealing with hostility, and appreciate the play as a brilliant illustration of Shakespeare’s poetic genius.
