On May 21st, Francoise Barthélemy and Martine Dauzier, who are responsible for the international exchange work in
University of Paris (East), visited the Institute of Discourse and Cultural Studies. Professors including Shi Xu,
Huang Jianbin, Meng Xiaomin, and Wu Yongqin warmly welcomed them. The two sides discussed about the
cooperation for student exchange.
First, Prof. Shi Xu presented the general situation about the Institute, and the hardware facilities for education, scientific
research, and the development of disciplines in our School. And then, Prof. Huang Jianbin and Shi Xu particularly
introduced the degree programs designed for both foreign undergraduate and graduate students as well as the information
about scholarship and application procedure, including the specialties of “Linguistics and the applied linguistics” and
“China studies” which had been newly set up. Meanwhile, Francoise Barthélemy and Martine Dauzier introduced their
Bachelor and Master degree programs in language discipline in University of Paris (East). Moreover,
Prof. Meng Xiaomin, and Wu Yongqin introduced the French courses opened in our School.
The two sides agreed upon the preliminary cooperation, such as sending a few graduate students mutually in the autumn of
2010 for the earlier exchange. After that, the program will expand its scope to all of students and teachers.
