SIS has always been actively engaged in local cooperation, contributing greatly to the national strategy of internationalization. Since 2006 it has been responsible for the translation of the contents of Zhejiang Provincial Government’s Official Web Portal into English, German, Japanese and French, as well as content maintenance. In addition, SIS has translated government laws, regulations and decrees into English. It is also responsible for translating the book series on Chinese cultural classics Schools of Painting in Chinese History (including Paintings of the Song Dynasty and Paintings of the Yuan Dynasty). Additionally, SIS has been deeply involved in reforming the national examination system and improving students’ proficiency in foreign languages by leading the design of National Graded Examinations in English Proficiency and acting as the main participant in developing curriculum standards and teaching guides.
