Seminar on the Revisal of National University Syllabus of Russian Major

From Dec. 19 to 22, 2008, the Seminar on the Revisal of National University Syllabus of Russian Major was held under the charge of Prof. Wang Yangzheng as Dean of Institute of Russian Language & Culture of Zhejiang University. Experts and professors of Russian language from over 30 universities, including
Peking University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Shanghai International Studies University,
Heilongjiang University, Renmin University of China, Shandong University, Xinjiang University, Jilin
University, Dalian University of Foreign Languages, Sichuan International Studies University, Nanjing
University and Xiamen University, attended the seminar and proceeded a thorough discussion on the
issue of revising national university syllabus of Russian major.

Through the seminar, the delegates exchanged the performances of the current syllabus in each
university, raised their own opinions respectively and had a heated discussion.

Prof. Wang Yangzheng from SIS delivered a conclusion speech and divided the syllabus’ revising work for the next step at length, and clarified tasks for member schools of each guidance committee. The
seminar had reached a consensus agreement that it was necessary to revise the current syllabus and to
raise suggestions and advice on the revising work.

Except for attending the seminar, delegates were also invited to visit Zhejiang Yuexiu University of
Foreign Languages in Shaoxing, receiving a warm welcome by the leaders and students of the school
and hearing the idea and practice of school-running, which meant a lot in helping the revisal work of
Russian Major syllabus.
