Exciting news comes recently that Li Yishuai, a senior student from
Culture in SIS ZJU, has received the approval of her application for the state-level funding research
project. Themed at studying “The Soviet Guarding War in Contemporary Russian Arts”, Li’s project
has passed the evaluation conducted by experts committee. It is the first time that a project presented
by SIS student to be involved in the National Innovational Experimental Program for University Students.
The project is as well the only one taken into that program supported by state’s fund in the year of 2008,
outshining all those applied by students in ZJU liberal arts colleges. Therefore, Li Yishuai has won an
honor for SIS.
The National Innovational Experimental Program for University Students was founded by the
department of education and the department of finance in October, 2006. Aiming at leveling up the
innovating and practicing capabilities of university students and cultivating outstanding intellects who
would be qualified for future innovation challenges, the program encourages university students to
play a leading role in carrying out innovational experiments through research training in under-
graduate period. The Ministry of Education has chosen its ten subordinate key universities, such
as
trial units for this program.
During more than two years’ study in SIS ZJU, Li Yishuai has conducted several scientific
researches which are new breakthroughs among the undergraduates. With the help of Professor
Wang Yong, her performance in applying for the program shows her distinguished scientific research
ability and the excellent selection of a topic; development of content and creativity in her research.
She will accomplish the project under the personal direction of Prof. Wang within one year. Li stated
confidently that she would try her best to fulfill the research task and win a better attention for the
newest achievements made by SIS on its process of open and compounding-cultivating education.
With the unique research spirit of SIS students, Li Yishuai will continue to pioneer the National
Innovational Program participation, gaining glory for SIS.
