On the evening of October 24, the long-awaited 19th International Cultural Festival of Zhejiang University finally grandly opens. Leaders honored guests present at the ceremony are Mr. Wu Juhui, deputy secretary of the Communist Youth League of Zhejiang University,Mr. Li Lei, deputy director of the Academic Affairs Department of Zhejiang University, Mr. Hu Songfa, party secretary of SIS, Ms. Wang Lingling, deputy party secretary of SIS, Mr. Feng Yifan, vice president of the New Oriental at Hangzhou. Zhu Xiuxiang, secretary of the Communist Youth League of SIS and Fu Yuanyang, deputy secretary of the Communist Youth League of SIS as well as many other teachers and students also join the celebration of the 19th anniversary of the International Cultural Festival, sharing the happiness brought by the communication and collision of culture together.
At 5:40 p.m., Party Secretary of SIS, Mr. Hu Fasong announced the opening of the 19th International Cultural Festival of Zhejiang University.The festival is to last one and a half months.
Lights blazing and music sounding, the Hip-hop show of Taiji sets the whole crowd on fire. At this moment, the stage becomes the only focus of the Cultural Square. Body is another form of language, tonight, all the people are fascinated with the sense of beauty showed by its tension. Then, Mr. Tangben, a teacher from the Japanese department of SIS, together with students from the Institute of Japanese Language and Literature, sing a Japanese song-“The First Flower of the World”, the happy rhythm of which mkes the atmosphere even more heated. The clear voice of Larry Strelitz, the special guest from South Africa and the poetry of the South African poet Robert Berold blend into pieces of moving blues, picks across strings, and then clear sound comes out; Catfish Blues and Black Jack Blues even bring the unplugged leisurely feeling for tonight. After that, Liu Yang, a member of the Student Magic Association of Zhejiang University, performs the prophecy and fluid transfer magic, and the magic poker and coke cans add to the exciting atmosphere. The ceremony reaches its peak when the Koren students’ band shows up on the stage. At this moment, no matter foreign students or Chinese students, guests or staff working for the ceremony, all the people present begin to intoxicatedly play the beat with the rhythm, applauding, for tonight's friendship and happiness!

As one of the six brand academic festivals in Zhejiang University, the 19th anniversary ceremony of the International Cultural Festival has given an unforgettable experience to everyone. In the following one and a half month, activities such as the first English Debate Competition, Pan-Yangtze River Delta College Model United Nations, English-promotion Month of Zheda, Minor Language Translation ＆ Writing Contest, and Zhejiang University Foreign Language Song Contest, will be held on the campus in turn and provide a big stage for students to get insights into the world.
