At 6.30 p.m., Feb.29th, 2008, in Room 104 of the International Conference Center of Zijingang Campus, a roving speech on “Exploring the Secrets of Building China’s Luxury Brand” was given by Mr. Zeng Yujie, former Greater China
president of Rolls-Royce and chairman of the
University with the assistance from the Graduate Students Union of SIS.
The speech started at 6.30 p.m. The conference room, which could accommodate 300 people, was crowded with
audience and even the corridors, aisles and both sides of the rostrum were no exception. First, Mr. Zeng Yujie gave a
speech on the theme of “Exploring the Secrets of Building China’s Luxury Brand” Then, he shared and discussed this novel topic of far-reaching significance with the audience by providing a series of interesting and thought-provoking questions
derived from many vivid examples. Through the whole speech, the audience showed their great admiration for Mr. Zeng’s witty humor and passion, which can be reflected by the constant applauding and roars of laughter echoing in the
conference room. The second stage was Q & A on the scene; the audience very enthusiastically raised their questions. In
spite of the time limit, Mr. Zeng gave very detailed answers to the questions of three audiences. The speech concluded at 8.40 p.m. with the audience’s heated repeated applauding.
Aimed at building a communication platform for the elites from
enterprise celebrities from prestigious universities such as Harvard and South Carolina, NBC, Los Angeles Times,
Microsoft and so on, the members of CFL will enhance their correct understanding of leadership, enlarge their international visions, improve their ability of cross-cultural communication, explore opportunities for great career blueprints and lift the
height of their lives. This speech is the first stop of the CFL project speaking tour. It is a success of groundbreaking
significance, which has laid good foundation for the whole speaking tour.
