Dr. Steven J Coombs from the British Bath Spa University Lectured in the School of International Studies of Zhejiang University

On the morning of November 21, 2008, Dr. Steven J Coombs, head of the Department of the Continuous
Development of Teachers’ Profession of the School of Education of Bath Spa University and professor of
School of Education of Sonoma State University in California, and professor of National University of
Singapore, made a brilliant speech in SIS, the theme of which was “The Role of Creative Thinking in the
Promotion of Teachers’ Professional Development and Research”.

Steven J Coombs discussed teachers’ professional development and research in a brand-new
perspective. The lecture reflected profound meanings by easy words, which made it very easy to
understand. All the teachers and students present at the lecture were deeply impressed by his profound
knowledge as well as his witty language and they all benefited a lot from this lecture.
