Prof. Ma Andong of SIS Attends International Symposium on Japanese Studies at Peking University

Oct. 21st and Oct 22nd, 2006, in order to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Japanese Discipline, an International Symposium on Japanese Studies was held in Peking University by Faculty of Japanese Culture of SFL and the Institute of Japanese Culture. More than 150 experts and scholars from China(including the mainland、Taiwan and Hong Kong) , Japan, South Korea, and Britain attended the meeting. And Prof. Ma, Director of the Institute of Japanese Language and Culture, SIS, Zhejiang University, attended it as an honored guest.
The Symposium consisted of 26 separate meetings, covering fields of Japanese language, education, literature and culture, etc. It also had discussions about learning experience of previous people, actualities of present Japanese education and relative information about Japanese-funded companies, providing a favorable communicational platform for learners and researchers of Japanese language.
In addition, the symposium has received funds and supports from The Japan Foundation, Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, Casio(Shanghai) Co. Ltd, Xiaoyang Charity Hospital, Higher Education Press, Commercial Press, Peoples Education Press, Peking University Press and other enterprises and social organizations.
