Upon the invitation from Taiwan German Cultural Center and Fun Jen Catholic University, Professor Fan Jieping from the Institute of German Language and Culture in SIS, Acting Dean of SIS, gave a series of lectures during, December16 to 21, 2005, in Taiwan German Cultural Center, Fun Jen Catholic University, National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology and Tamkang University.
Besides, Professor Fan took part in the 16th Annual Conference of Taiwan Teuton Scholars’ Institute and made a keynote speech on “Das Strukturmodell der Berliner Didaktik und die Umgestaltung des fremdsprachlichen Studiengangs an Hochschulen” (On the Berlin Model and the Restructuring of Foreign Language Disciplines). In Fun Jen Catholic University, he gave a lecture entitled On Contemporary German Literature and Text Interpreation to the graduate students.
During his stay in Taiwan, Professor Fan Jieping found common ground with the Department of Foreign Languages of Fun Jen Catholic University concerning exchanges between students and scholars, cooperation in establishment of the Medieval Europe Research Center of our school as well as joint research in applied linguistics.
