SIS Achieved Great Success in the 2007 University Sports Meet

October 19-20, 2007, the Sports Meet of Zhejiang University was grandly held in the Zijingang Campus. 8 a.m on the morning of October 19, accompanied by the rising sun and morning breeze, the phalanx of SIS was passing by the platform and proudly chanting their slogan ‘Talents of SIS, Wealthy in knowledge about the world’-----seeing this, we came to believe this year SIS would create its own glories once again.

      As we had expected, after two days’ fierce competition, our girls’ team turned out to be very successful, ranking the 4^th in all the undergraduate teams, and the boys’ and the  girls’ as whole the 7^th. On the playground, our athletes were wholly devoted to the games, their passionate and swift figures seen at every finishing line, their striving postures making the center of attention in every arena. On the track, the distance to success became smaller with every big step they made; beside the jumping pit, they made all their efforts to leap forward; before the hurdle, every striding movement just brought them closer to their success and dreams. No matter it was a match of power or skill, they all spared no efforts to compete. If they won, we cheered for them and took them as our pride. If they lost, they were still our heroes. The teachers, who took part in the teachers’ games, also were admirably successful; the spirit reflected is worth learning to all the students. On this sports arena, every drop of sweat shed by the athletes should be remembered and all the cheering and encouraging cry made by the cheering team members were the most wonderful and pleasant music in the world.

      The achievement of brilliant result is closely related to the relentless efforts made by the athletes and the unity of the whole SIS, it is beyond doubt that we will create more glories and accomplishment in our future career of study, work and sports.
