On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Dalian Foreign Language University, Sept16th to 18th 2004, the dean of SIS, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Steinmueller , Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Yin Qiping and Prof. Wang Yangzheng, director of the Institute of Russian Language and Literature, took part in the festivities . Included into these festivities was an international symposium on the globalization of foreign language teaching with participants from China, Russia, Korea, and Japan, where Prof. Dr. Steinmueller was invited to give a lecture on the topic of " Challenges and Perspectives of Foreign Language Teaching in the 21. Century". The delegation investigated with promising results possibilities of cooperation and exchange with high-ranking personalities from foreign language institutions both domestic and abroad.
