On the afternoon of April 18, a group of over 30 members, the 3rd Group of the Contingent of Korean National Youth Committee,
came to Zijingang Campus of Zhejiang University (ZJU), and had friendly exchanges with more than 30 students and teachers
from School of International Studies (SIS).
Students of SIS first showed Korean friends around the campus, including the teaching park, the library, the canteen, the beautiful
Qizhen Lake, and the Nanhua Garden near the lake.
Thereafter, SIS held a welcome ceremony for the arrival of the Korean youth contingent at Room 101 of East Building 5.
Ms Wang LingLing, Deputy Secretary of the Party committee of SIS made a speech to greet the Korean young friends, welcoming
them to Hang Zhou and Zijingang Campus of ZJU in the most beautiful season, and introducing briefly the basic situation of ZJU
and SIS. She emphatically pointed out that ZJU, as a first-class institution of higher learning in China, has attracted nearly 2,000
Korean students to come and study, including more than ten Korean students studying in SIS now. As the relationships between
China and other countries become closer and closer, SIS, which has a long history and a good developing posture, puts
forward a new school-running idea in recent years� to produce compound and international talents as the goal, thus the
students are required to master knowledge and skills of other fields besides the proficiency of a foreign language.Then,
Mr. Kim Young Gon（???）, the leader of the contingent and member of the executive council of Korean National Youth
Committee, delivered a thank-you speech. He expressed his gratitude to SIS and the Communist Youth League Committee
of ZJU for their warm reception. He said that the intercourse between Chinese and Korean young people could enhance their
mutual understanding, and facilitate the friendly relationship between these two neighboring countries, so as to ensure the
stability of Northeast Asia and to promote the common prosperity of Asia.
After the welcome ceremony, the two sides had some free and spirited exchange of views on matters of mutual
concern, such as organizations of Chinese and Korean youth, university life and tuition fees, and the influence of
Korean fashion in China.
