Under the guide of Prof. Duzhu, in sociology and his assistant Miss Songwei,4 Japanese students arrived at Zijingang Campus at noon on Feb. 27. Together with the 2001 Japanese majors, Wang Chun, a teacher from the Asian & European Department, showed the Japanese visitors around the new campus, and afterwards they had some informal discussion in Building No. Dong-6, at which they exchanged their ideas concerning language study and other questions, and souvenirs as well. In the evening at the dinner party at Yijiaxian restaurant, students from SIS introduced the delicious Hangzhou food to Japanese friends, who spoke highly of the dishes served.
This exchange helped the Chinese and the Japanese students know more about each other, and benefited both Chinese students and Japanese visitors in language study . And we were all deeply moved by Prof. Duzhu while he said at the discussion, " Although there are some disagreements between China and Japan, concerning political affairs and historic affairs, I'm confident that the two neighbors will build up better relationship and mutual trust.
