Russian majors’ trip to Russia for a summer camp (Jul.13-Aug.13) has come to a successful end. We come back home—Zijingang Campus of Zhejiang University, with deep affectionateness towards St Petersburg, a famous ancient city of Russia, and deep love for its National Science and Technology University.
Experience means a lot in our life. Every day and night we spent in St. Petersburg has left us deep impression. Just as Zhejiang University, St. Petersburg National Science and Technology University is a renowned university with a history of over one hundred years, where we were warmly received. Besides providing fine accommodation and some hours of language course every week, the university also arranged for us to visit places of interest in Petersburg. This trip undoubtedly helped to broaden our horizon. While enjoying Russian culture, custom and tradition, we became more interested in learning Russian language. As freshmen, we feel pretty lucky to have such a chance to visit the country whose language we are learning.
The summer camp received much attention and great support from the leaders of School of International Studies. Teachers from Russia Language and Culture Research Institute also made great efforts to this activity, which is the first one that has been organized and consummated after the Russian instutite was founded. As a part of the communication between Zhejiang University and St. Petersburg National Science and Technology University, it will help to promote further communication and cooperation in the future.
The summer camp was also funded by our university and China Scholarship Council of the Ministry of Education, to both of whom we feel very grateful.
One month is not a long time, but the experience in this month is going to benefit us for a lifetime.
