At 14 o'clock on June 9, Professor T.Sima Paribakht, famed expert on vocabulary acquisition from University of Ottawa, Canada, gave a special speech on the topic of “Content-based Foreign Language Instruction in Higher Education” in East-5, Room-201.
Prof. Paribakht integrated theory with practice, and introduced the evolvement and implementation of teaching model of "Foreign language instruction based on content" in detail, which has been conducted in University of Ottawa for more than 30 years. It opened up a new approach to the reform of foreign language instruction.
The simple but profound speech helped teachers and students present have a further understanding on the teaching model. It was highly praised and considered to be quite helpful in the reform and scientific research of the foreign language instruction in our country.
After the speech, teachers and students continued a further discussion with Paribakht, raising questions one after another.
