On the morning of September 1st, the welcoming ceremony for Danish exchange students was held at Room 201, East 5. HU Songfa, the secretary of the Party committee of SIS, and professor HUANG Jianbin, in charge of TCSOL (Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages), attended the ceremony.
The ceremony began with the welcome speech given by Secretary HU Songfa. He introduced the basic information of Zhejiang University and SIS, and wished them a happy life and successful study in China.
Then Prof. HUANG Jianbin talked about the present condition of foreign students in SIS, especially about their Chinese study. Also, he mentioned the cooperation programs between Copenhagen University and Zhejiang University. Meanwhile, Prof. Huang demonstrated some differences between Peking and Hangzhou, pointing out that there were a lot of dissimilarities between Hangzhou and their original idea about China. He said that students would understand Chinese culture and the diversification of life better through their life and study. Prof. Huang hoped that all the foreign students would enjoy themselves in SIS, and encouraged them to study TCSOL formally in China with the Scholarship offered by Hanban and contribute to the spread of Chinese language and culture.
In the end, some teachers respectively introduced their courses. The exchange students got to know their own language partner, and started to enjoy their half-year study in SIS.
