1986-1990 Department of English Language and Literature, Xiangtan University, Bachelor of Arts.

1990-1991 Pedagogy & Psychology, Hunan Normal University, On-the-job Training.

1993-1996 Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Hangzhou University, Master of Arts

2001-2004 Shanghai International Studies University, PhD (in Linguistics)

2006-2010 National Research Center for Foreign Language Education, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Post-doctoral Research

2008      Center for Translation Studies, University of Vienna, Post-doctoral Research.

 

Research interest:

Dr. Wenzhong He was well-trained to do linguistic studies in both Chinese and English. His major research interests include contrastive linguistics, corpus linguistics, cognitive linguistics, lexicography and translation studies.

His specific interests at present are in the contrastive studies of middle constructions and their cognitive account, the corpus-based lexicological studies of English.

 

Courses offered

He offers courses to both undergraduates and graduates in two fields: Linguistics and Translation.

Linguistics:

Introduction to Linguistics; English Lexicology; Cognitive linguistics; Contrastive Linguistics; Corpus linguistics; Chinese Grammar.

Translation:

Introduction to Translation studies; Translation Theories; Computer-assisted Translation; Advanced English-Chinese Translation.
