On May 30th, at the invitation of Institute of Japanese Language and Culture, School of International Studies, Mr. Kawa Koji, who is called master of “Crazy Japanese” and used to teach in Tsinghua University and Peking University, visited Zhejiang University and introduced his own special way of learning Japanese. Mr. Kawa was entitled as “Top 100 active Japanese in China” by Asahi Shimbun in 2010. With the support from the public, he began his Chinese university tour since September, 2011. He is the model of native Japanese teachers in China for his contribution to the culture communication between China and Japan, which is indeed precious with Sino-Japanese political relations at a low ebb currently.
At the beginning of the lecture, Ms. Alita, the deputy director of Institute of Japanese Language and Culture, expressed her appreciation for Mr. Kawa’s visit and hoped that all the participants could get something useful and improve their proficiency in Japanese learning. And then, Mr. Kawa introduced himself and asked students to write down their questions about Japanese learning and he stochastically answered some of them. Mr. Kawa’s vivid and humorous words which were full of passion and infection left a deep impression on the participants.
Mr. Kawa explained his methods on Japanese learning concluded from his rich Japanese teaching experience from various aspects such as pronunciation and vocabulary, and showed the high-efficiency of his methods by video. Mr. Kawa also interacted with students actively which brought continuous applause and laughter. Students benefited a lot from the lecture, and they asked for Mr. Kawa’s signature one after another after the lecture.
Ms. Alita said that the institute would invite more Japanese teachers to Zhejiang University so as to advance Japanese teaching in the university and try to satisfy students’ demands for Japanese learning.
