SIS Students Interpreted for Canadian Delegation

On November 7th, a delegation of Canadian companies led by Stephen Harper, the Prime Minister of Canada, visited Hangzhou and negotiated with People’s Government of Zhejiang Province and enterprise representatives at InterContinental Hotel.
Invited by Consulate General of Canada in Shanghai, and arranged by Department of Foreign Affairs and Communist Youth League Committee of SIS, 40 senior students who major in English and Translation were present as interpreters in the negotiation. The enterprises of both sides made one-to-one discussions on Investment, Technological Innovation, Agriculture, and Tourist Communications. With less-than-one-week intense preparation, those students provided attentive and accurate interpretation service, which received wide recognition and praise from both organizer and enterprise representatives.
