Zhejiang University is located in Hangzhou, on the east coast of China, popularly known as the-Paradise-on-Earth-City. The School of International Studies (SIS) within the University is a dazzling pearl.
SIS is located in Zijingang Campus by the Qizhen Lake. The picturesque landscape, the modern facilities and the congenial ambience provide the faculty and students with an ideal environment for teaching, learning and research.
The School offers degree programs in five foreign languages: English, Japanese, German, Russian and French, including English Language and Literature (with four orientations: literature, linguistics, translation and foreign trade), Japanese Language and Literature, German Language and Literature, Russian Language and Literature, French Language and Literature. The School is entitled to award Ph.D. degrees in the secondary discipline English Language and Literature, MA degree in the primary discipline Foreign Language and Literature, and 6 secondary disciplines, namely Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, English Language and Literature, Japanese Language and Literature, German Language and Literature, Russian Language and Literature, and French Language and Literature, as well as the master degree programs of International Education of Sinology and Translation & Interpreting.
