Song Xianlin, Dean of Confucius Institute and Gregory McCarthy, professor from Political Science of the University of Western Australia paid their visit to Zhejiang University on March 28th. Mr. Ren Shaobo, executive vice-president of Zhejiang University, together with experts and professors from Academy of Social Sciences, International College, School of Public Affairs and School of International Studies, had formal talks with the guests.
Mr. Ren Shaobo expressed his welcome to the delegation first and then after recognizing the close ties between Zhejiang University and the University of Western Australia in the past few years, he claimed there showed great prospects for the collaboration of two universities in such fields as humanities, social sciences and international relations. He expressed his hope that the two universities could consolidate achievements and extend collaborative areas. After introducing his studies, Gregory McCarthy showed the University of Western Australia thinks highly of its collaboration with Zhejiang University and it is hoped that Center of Australian Research would be restarted in Zhejiang University while promoting collaborations and exchanges.
After the meeting, the guests had further talks with relevant personnel from School of International Studies and School of Public Affairs.
