On May 26 and 27, the delegation of the Presidents of Supreme Judicial Courts of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states paid a visit to Hangzhou. The delegation, with a total number of over 100 foreign guests, includes 61 presidents and judges of the Supreme Judicial Courts of SCO member states. Xue Ranran and Jiang Lei, two teachers from the Institute of Russian Language & Culture of SIS assumed the interpretation task for the delegation.
On the afternoon of May 26, two Russian teachers and two English teachers accompanied the delegation to the beautiful West Lake in drizzle on a gaily-painted pleasure-boat. They introduced the history and legend of the West Lake to the guests. The next stop is Hangzhou Internet Court, the first of its kind in the world where the interpreters outlined big data platform, intelligent system, asynchronous trial mode and mobile court. Then they attended the court hearing of a dispute on the information network communication rights. In the evening, Li Zhanguo, President of Higher People’s Court of Zhejiang Province hosted a banquet for the foreign guests, and invited them to the grand water show “Impression· West Lake”.
On May 27, the delegation visited Hangzhou Intermediate People’s Court, where President Si Jinjin delivered a speech. A key judge gave a report on its IPR court and judicial protection of IPR. The delegation also watched the procedure of the “Online Dispute Solution Platform” and visited the Digital Court. After that, they paid a visit to Hangzhou Silk Museum.
Xue Ranran and Jiang Lei, with their accurate and fluent interpretation, were highly praised by the Higher People’s Court of Zhejiang Province, Hangzhou Intermediate People’s Court and members of the delegation.
