Lyle Bachman is Professor Emeritus of Applied Linguistics and TESL at the University of California, Los Angeles.
His authorship includes Language Testing in Practice, and Fundamental Considerations in Language Testing, both published by Oxford University Press. He has also published numerous articles in the area of language testing and evaluation.
His current professional interests include the development and validation of tests of language ability, the technologies of test design and development and the interfaces between language testing research and other areas of applied linguistic research.

Barbara Damböck is the Director of Studies, English Department at the Teacher Training Academy in Dilingen, German Vice-Principal and classroom teacher in German elementary and high schools.
Her current professional research interests include modern foreign language teaching, classroom-based language assessment, the assessment of speaking and the content-based instruction.
