From November 23 to 25, 2018, the tenth Pan-Yangtze River Delta Model United Nations Conference was hosted by the School of International Studies, Zhejiang University, and co-organized by the Model United Nation (MUN) of Zhejiang University and the Global Engagement Program (GEP) of Zhejiang University.
The conference with more than 200 delegates, observers and instructors from over 40 institutions of higher learning across the country was successfully held on Zijinang Campus of Zhejiang University. With seven committees, namely, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the History Security Council (HSC), the Shangri-La Dialogue (SLD), the United Nations General Assembly Third Committee (GA3), the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Council of Europe (CE) and the Main Press Center (MPC), it carried on discussions on various major issues, such as the sustainable development of polar ecology and the life of the local people, Rwanda Case in 1994, security and peace in Asia, response to the refugee crisis and protection of refugee rights, AIDS and labor rights, as well as Brexit. In addition to the four formal sessions, the conference also provided delegates with an excellent party for relaxing and social communication.
