At the invitation of Aksakov Writers Association and the organizing committee of International Literary Festival in Orenburg, Russia, Ms. Zhou Lu of the Institute of Russian Language and Culture, SIS, went to Orenburg from May 20th to 29th, 2019 for the 7th International Krasnogorsky National Unity Literary Festival.
Located in the south of Ural region, Orenburg is 144,1 kilometers away from Moscow and adjoins the Republic of Kazakhstan. It is a multi-ethnic communityhome to 130 ethnic nationalities, so it’s no wonder the National Unity Literary Festival was held there. As a special guest invited by the organizing committee, Ms. Zhou Lu received a warm reception and gave a report on the “Acceptance of Evgeny Abramovich Baratynsky and Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontovin China”, which aroused a heated discussion among the participants. Under the arrangement of the organizer, Ms. Zhou also paid a visit to Orenburg National Normal University fora conversazione with students and teachers of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, and build cooperation with local poets, writers and critics in Orenburg. Meanwhile, she was interviewed by Channel One, Russia on the Literary Festival and a broadcasting station named Ah! Moscowon Hangzhou and Zhejiang University to Russian audience.
During the Festival, Ms. Zhou was touched by the passion of the Russian people for poetry and respect for Pushkin. Cultural figures in Russia are very friendly to China and admire its development and prosperity. It is believed that cultural exchanges with Russia will be strengthened in the future, not only in those metropolises like Moscow or St.Petersburg, but in every part and every dimension in Russia.
