On the afternoon of June 6, Professor Rafael Olea Franco from the Center ofLiterature and Linguistic Studies, El Colegio de México, delivered a lecture entitled “the Dissemination of Borges’ Works in the World” at Room 201, East Building 5 on Zijingang Campus. His study experience and rich visiting experience made the lecture a fruitful one.
The vivid and appealing lecture was warmly welcomed by students and teachers present. Prof. Rafael stared from the dialectical relationship between human memory and forgetting, and then quoted extensively by taking Borges’ books as an example.Impressed by his simple but penetrating questions, the attendees learned about the value of philosophical analysis in Borges’ works.
Students benefited a great deal from Professor Rafael’s wonderful lecture and his inspiration through frequent exchangesof ideas withhim. It is believed that students will learn Spanish with more passion.
