Professor Bao Chuanyun from Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS) visited School of International Studies (SIS) of Zhejiang University

On November 14, Professor Bao Chuanyun from Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS) visited School of International Studies (SIS) of Zhejiang University. He was greeted by Fang Fan, Deputy Dean of SIS, Professor Guo Guoliang and Lu Qiaodan, Deputy Director of Department of Linguistics and Translation of SIS.

After expressing her welcome, Deputy Dean Fang Fan gave a brief introduction to the profile and development of the SIS. Prof. Bao explained the subjects of MIIS and the willingness of cooperation and exchange programs between the MIIS and the SIS. They had in-depth discussions on disciplinary construction, training programs, student development and cooperation willingness of translation studies.

Some graduate students in translation studies were present at the conference and asked Prof. Bao for advice on their future study and employment.

Established in 1955, Monterey Institute of International Studies, merging with Middlebury College in 2005, became Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS). MIIS has two schools: Graduate School of International Policy and Management (GSIPM) and Graduate School of Translation, Interpretation, and Language Education (GSTILE).
