on Interdisciplinary Studies of Ethical Literary Criticism

To further promote the perfection in the course design of undergraduate program and high-quality research on teaching at Zhejiang University, Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies of World Literature, Liberal and General Education Office of Undergraduate School, English Department of School of International Studies at Zhejiang University, School of Modern Languages and Cultures at University of Warwick, Korea University, Konkuk University, Dongguk University, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, University of Malaya, HueUniversity of Educationand University of Santo Tomas will co-host the Third Leading Forum for College Students on Interdisciplinary Studies of Ethical Literary Criticism on May 15, 2022.
“Leading Forum for College Students” is an international academic platform for college students in their academic apprenticeship in the field of literary studies to learn about theory and methodology of ethical literary criticism, to expand their horizons and cultivate their academic interests with an international and interdisciplinary vision. In pursuit of progress, excellence, innovation and leadership, the forum focuses on the theory and practice of ethical literary criticism and interdisciplinary studies, in particular the fundamental theories, core concepts, and cutting-edge issues in ethical literary criticism, as to strengthen effective academic exchanges and mutual learning for college students.
“Leading Forum for College Students” is Zhejiang University’s overarching attempt to innovate and reform the course design of undergraduate program and to advance research on teaching carried out by School of International Studies. In order to deepen students’ insights into moral virtues, sharpen their foundational research and writing skills, and heighten students’ awareness of their cultural background, the Forum works hand in hand with the undergraduate program and widens its scope of discussion to include both Chinese and Western classics. Giving consideration to the innovation of course design, the cultivation of students’ moral character and creative skills, and the improvement of teaching methods, the Forum undertakes to accelerate a reformation in undergraduate education.
“Zijingang Global Forum on Interdisciplinary Studies” is named after Zijingang Campus, the main campus of Zhejiang University. It aims to provide an interdisciplinary platform for scholars engaged in humanities at home and abroad, especially those who are devoted to literary studies, to facilitate theoretical advancement, methodological innovation, intellectual promotion, and information exchange. As a foundational part of Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies of World Literature, “Zijingang International Forum on Interdisciplinary Studies” launches a series of academic activities and keeps its participants informed about current scholarship in the field. To be more specific, these activities unfold in four major forums: “Leading Lecture Series on Frontier Studies,” “Leading Scholarship Exhibition,” “Leading Forum on Interdisciplinary Studies for Youth Talents,” and “Leading Forum for College Students.”
1. Topic of the Forum: Interdisciplinary Studies of Ethical Literary Criticism
We anticipate and welcome contributions on the variety of topics and issues including (but not limited to) the following:
(1) Basic theory and core concepts of Ethical Literary Criticism;
(2) Ethical selection and literary canons;
(3) Ethical teaching and children’s literature;
(4) Scientific selection and science fiction.

3. Abstract submissions:
Please send an abstract of around 300 words and the feedback form as email attachments to iaelc2021zjg@163.com before April 15, 2022.
4. Paper acceptance:
You will be notified whether your abstract passes the peer review by e-mail before April 25, 2022.
5. Program:
Keynote speeches by experts and student delegates (student representatives are recommended by universities of the council/ Partner Universities); Panel Session. The Paper Reading Certificate will be issued to those who present their papers at the forum. After the forum, the organizing committee will select attendees to submit the full text to the “Proceeding of Leading Forum for College Students on Interdisciplinary Studies of Ethical Literary Criticism.”
