During the past nine decades, SIS has produced a legion of graduates, who are now working in sectors including foreign affairs, education, finance, communication, mass media, construction, clothing, and trade and commerce. In May, 2007, when ZJU celebrated its 110^th birthday, the SIS Alumni Association was inaugurated, followed by the establishment of the Alumni Association of Russian Majors, the Shanghai Alumni Association, the Alumni Association of French Majors, the Beijing Alumni Association and the Ningbo Alumni Association.

SIS would not have thrived without support from various communities: alumni and social communities have all contributed to the Birch Forest Si Yuan Fund, the Fund of Cultivating Foreign Language Talents by Parents’ Committee, the Zhong Yi Fund, the Berry Boom Young Teachers’ Development Fund, the Qiushi Humanities Development Fund, and the GU Songshu Education Development Fund. These have helped to boost teaching and to grow of foreign language-related disciplines impressively.
