The Global Engagement Program (GEM), launched in September 2015, provides more opportunities for students to realize their potential and to develop their qualities, thus better facilitating ZJU’s implementation of the “Double First-class” Initiative. As of October 2015, the program recruited students from SIS, and then from the whole university since 2017. In 2018, a new minor program, International Organization and International Development, was initiated targeting all students. So far, the program has been maturing and forming cooperative relationships with powerful strategic partners, overseas higher education institutions, external lecturers and trainers, and international organizations. GEM fellows have scored very highly in national contests and have completed internships in various international organizations.
